THE BOOKAJ II COLLECTION IS HERE! Boonkaj is a Miriwoong word meaning ‘emerging or appearing’. The Boonkaj Collection (pronounced ‘boon-gatch’) takes its inspiration from bush tucker and medicines found in Miriwoong Country in the East Kimberley. Crafted by three generations of women artists, the designs have been developed through on Country trips to collect and draw bush tucker, and share cultural knowledge. The fabric and print colours have been chosen to represent the rich colours of the East Kimberley, and have all been screen-printed on Miriwoong Country. Read more about the Boonkaj Project.
