This is my grandmother's country; a place we call Lakuwang in Gija Country. The black mountain ranges border the blue Chamberlain River. The footprints represent the movement of my ancestors within Country; walking, hunting, traveling and camping at different spots.For me this painting revives a time when my family and ancestors were living in their traditional country, before they moved into town.
