Support women's cultural practice
"This is healing..." - Dora Griffiths
The Waringarri Arts print and textiles program enables young women to engage with older women in cultural practice - to share knowledge, learn new skills and develop their potential.
It connects young women to cultural traditions such as bush food knowledge, stories and collection, which inspires their beautiful textile and homewares designs. These unique and beautiful creations directly support the economic livelihood of Indigenous women.
Your donation can support the long term development and expansion of this project and create opportunites for young women.
- $100 will provide 6 metres of linen and enough textile ink for an artist to block print it by hand.
- $500 will provide enough material, ink and tools for a group of young women to hand block print textiles for a week.
- $1000 will provide a bush trip for young women, their children and senior women - to identify and gather bush tucker and medicine, to be used to create new designs.
Gathering the gifts of nature from the land have inspired beautiful designs in textiles and homewares. To view and purchase some of these, visit our online shop
Your giving is much appreciated.
In return, we'd like to offer you regular program updates and unique opportunities to engage with our artists.
