 2011 Exhibitions Wrap-up
In 2011 Waringarri artists presented 5 solo exhibitions and participated in 7 group exhibitions. Solo Shows included: Judy Mengil, Phyllis Ningarmara, Peggy Griffiths and Peter Newry with 2 exhibitions. Group exhibitions in Sydney, Darwin, Adelaide & Perth resulted in successful sales outcomes for young and emerging artists.

Participation in the annual Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair resulted in sales outcomes and important skill development opportunities for artists and arts-workers who assisted at the fair. Artists offered their skills & knowledge to the DAAF program by presenting boab engraving workshops to the public. Arts-workers Dora Griffiths and Anita Churchill learnt skills in customer service and retail sales.

In late October the seven emerging artists selected for “Revealed” a showcase exhibition for new and emerging artists - travelled to Perth for the excitement of the Revealed Exhibition Opening and 2 days of arts workshops in glass, ceramics and photography. Artists also assisted with talking to customers and making sales at the Revealed Weekend Marketplace. Congratulations are due to Button Jones, Mercy Fredericks, Betty Bundamurra, Louise Marlarvie and Kelly Anne Drill for their success at the exhibition.
Other events coinciding with Revealed was a display of artworks as part of the CHOGM biodiversity exhibition.
