| Kalumburu Art Development Project | |||||||
| Waringarri Arts has initiated an art project at Kalumburu Community after requests from the community and DEWHA. The Aim of the project is to develop art and culture skills within the community and assist in the development of a long term art program that will include the construction of a Community Art Centre, a permanent arts worker and Indigenous trainees. Since the project began in mid June, works on bark, canvas and paper haver been produced by many new artists. In September two fibre artists from Milingimbi conducted weaving workshops for senior school kids. Works and artists bios may be viewed on this site under K in the artists section. | |||||||
